 Emerald
Have you considered releasing an official Emerald theme in step with the Metacity theme? Emerald allows for shadowing and anti-aliasing that Metacity lacks (just check out the ugly, pixelated corners).

 Re: Emerald
Personally, I don't have any skill with Emerald theming, but usually the community is good about that. you should check gnome-look.org

 Re: Emerald
Since I'm currently Compiz/Emerald user, I can make a theme. However, I will need resources for that. I'm not skilled in GIMP or Inkscape.

 Re: Emerald
The only svg's I can see are menu and close buttons. I've already made window decorations, but buttons still remain and I have no proper source for them. I can try to use colors specified in Metacity's xml. BTW: I can also see, that in Metacity Max button seems to have different shade for unfocused and hovered state than close button.

 Re: Emerald
oh yes, the min and max buttons are drawn with the XML itself That's why they look so much better than the menu and close buttons. They are really simple shapes, so just copy the style from one of the SVG buttons
